Our Primary Curriculum is planned and adapted, along with our Personal Goals, to build a solid academic foundation, nurture curiosity, foster creativity, develop a thirst for knowledge, preparing our students to thrive in an international community and be lifelong learners. In all subjects, we place an emphasis on knowledge, skills and understanding whilst aiming to inspire, motivate, and meet the social and emotional needs of students.

Our lessons are designed to encourage every child to be involved and adopt a positive attitude to their learning. Our students are encouraged to be resilient, inquisitive, independent, confident and happy individuals.
Our English and Mathematics Curriculum is based on the Cambridge International Education Curriculum.
Our Design Technology and Innovation, Geography, Health and Well-Being, History, International Studies, Music and Science Curriculum is based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). IPC offers a comprehensive, thematic, and creative approach to education. There are clear learning goals that develop our students’ academics and foster international mindedness and personal goals that promote commitment to learning. Our students are taught by Specialist Teachers for Art and Design, ICT and Computing, Swahili, PE and Swimming.

Empowering the Whole Child
We set high expectations for every student, whatever their prior attainment. Learning is always based on building on prior knowledge and connecting learning whilst working towards clearly defined end points. Students’ progress is measured through a range of ongoing assessments and through three key assessment points during the year.
Students are taught in their own classes by their class teacher who teaches most of the curriculum. Each class has a Teaching Assistant to support the learning. Students are taught by specialist teachers for PE, Swimming, Swahili and Art. Year 4 to Year 6 have ICT lessons and Year 6 have French lessons.
In addition to our academic programme, we have a varied electives and after school programme, including sports, drama, reading, art, music, cultural studies, robotics and drama. We believe that it is important for students to have the choice and opportunity to develop their individual talents in areas of learning they are passionate about.
