Ms. Phillippa Sayers

“Ms. Phillippa”
Early Years Teacher

I am originally from London and am delighted to have joined the International School of Zanzibar as a Year 2 teacher. With a background in Child Psychology and a strong interest in Educational Neuroscience, I am passionate about understanding how students learn and creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences that build confidence, curiosity and independence.

I also have a particular interest in nature, conservation and outdoor learning. I enjoy creating opportunities for students to explore and connect with the natural world and currently lead the Eco Warriors club at ISZ. I am especially interested in Forest School approaches and the ways outdoor, hands-on learning can support wellbeing, creativity, resilience and a sense of responsibility for the environment.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy yoga, travel, being in nature and exploring my new home in Zanzibar. I am very happy to be part of the ISZ community and look forward to continuing to learn alongside my students while making the most of everything Zanzibar has to offer.
